July 2026 Kigurumi Public-Source Digest¶
This is a monthly collection page, not the final 2026 annual chronicle. Research is current through July 31, 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).
July 31 review: The four existing official sources remain reachable. WCS 2026's official schedule shows that it begins today, but no independent completion record is available, so its status is not changed to completed. KAOKIG's tenth-anniversary entry remains a single de-duplicated node.

KAOKIG's tenth anniversary at Japan Expo Paris¶
Japan Expo Paris ran July 9–12. Its official exhibitor page identifies KAOKIG's tenth-anniversary stand at Hall 5A / S507 and defines Animegao Kigurumi as a cosplay practice that uses a manga-inspired mask to approach a character's appearance.2 The association presented an exhibition area, mask information from its cosplayers, a character photo area, and opportunities to try on a mask.
This is an official public-education and international-exchange node rather than a private social-media post. The source page includes a gallery; this archive links the original page instead of copying third-party images.
Doll Weekend × KIGURUMI¶
The organizer marks the three-city photo party as ongoing in July–August and publishes a gallery and free registration entry.1 The archive links the original gallery instead of copying third-party photographs.
WCS 2026 rules¶
WCS's official schedule runs July 31–August 2, beginning on this page's review date; completion remains pending later evidence. The organizer lists 41 participating countries and regions.3 Its current rules are directly relevant to full-head costumes:4
- mascot suits that pose a heat-exhaustion risk may be restricted;
- full-face masks, helmets, and mascot suits may enter a specified venue, but staff may verify identity;
- photography without consent is prohibited;
- online or print publication requires the subject's permission;
- poses, handshakes, and two-person photographs also require consent;
- changing in public restrooms is prohibited.
Doll Weekend 14 preview¶
The organizer schedules DW14 for August 21–23 in Huizhou, with a cocktail-party theme, separate domestic and overseas ticket paths, and exhibitor applications.5 It remains an announcement as of the research cutoff.
Domain gaps and de-duplication¶
No independently verifiable July maker tutorial or new academic paper directly focused on animegao kigurumi was found, so the craft and academic fields remain empty. KAOKIG's public introduction belongs under reference and international exchange, not academic research. Completed 2022–2025 material is not repeated. Announcements, galleries, and follow-ups from one organizer remain a single evolving entry.
